The women of Wadham College Boat Club went into Torpids having overcome numerous hurdles in their training programme – most notably the lack of green flag status on the The Isis and Godstow since Christ Church Regatta (21st November) in Michaelmas term. Some eager crews emerged ready for race week following strong commitment in the gym, erg room, squat sessions and bitterly cold weekends at Dorney Lake.

Summer Eights this year was bound to be interesting, given that huge amounts of rain led to the rivers being on red flag and therefore unsafe to row on for just over two weeks prior to racing. Wadham continued training undeterred, fitting in trips to Dorney Lake to row on the Olympic course, a hefty schedule or ergs, and technical tank sessions. The sun came out in force for Eights week itself, and all Wadham crews were raring to go!
